Joan Jett Facts: Joan Jett is an American rock singer, songwriter, composer, musician, and record producer, often described as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. She is best known for her work with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, including their hit record “I Love Rock ‘n Roll”, which was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982.
Born on September 22, 1958, Jett’s career began in the mid-1970s as a member of The Runaways, an all-female punk band that also included Cherie Currie and Lita Ford. After The Runaways disbanded in 1979, Jett pursued a solo career and then formed Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
