DECEMBER 18, 1998 – Alice Cooper opened the $2.7 million Cooperstown restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona with businessman Brian Weymouth and other investors. A sports and music themed restaurant and bar, it was built three blocks from the Arizona Diamondbacks’ baseball stadium at 141 E. Jackson Street near Second Street in Phoenix’s warehouse district, and was touted as “Where Jocks and Rock Meet.” Jerseys and other local sports memorabilia shared the stage at the restaurant, and as the face of the brand, Cooper’s touches were evident in everything, from dishes named Nightmare Nachos, Welcome To My Nightmare Chili, Centerfield Salad and Killer Corned Beef Sandwiches to photos of Cooper around the restaurant.featured such menu items as ” and “The Killer” Corned Beef.To celebrate, Cooper performed with his original bandmates Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith, the first time the three had been on stage together in 24 years.The restaurant proved successful, but closed in 2017. Over the last few years, downtown Phoenix had experienced another growth spurt, but with additions such as the CityScape complex, much of the attention focused north of Talking Stick Resort Arena and Jefferson Street.
